Our Love Story
Alex and I met on Tinder. One cheesy pick up line and I somehow let him score a date out of it. We went to La Carreta's in Boone. I had been so nervous for this date that my friend had joked about crashing. Well turns out her significant other had really wanted La Carreta's that night too so she actually did show up! It was so funny. Alex and I hung out at my apartment afterwards. I had just moved into this apartment and didn't have a couch yet either so we had to suffer and sit on the floor while we watched movies. He was such a trooper. I must have made a good impression too because he didn't ghost me after that! We talked everyday from then and were seeing each other 1-2 times a week. About a year later when my lease was up for my apartment I moved in with him in Fort Dodge.

The Proposal
It was a couple days before my birthday and wasn't really thinking anything of it. Alex was going to cook me a birthday dinner since we were going to be in Ames with my parents on my actual birthday. I could tell something was up as he was acting a little strange. After eating he asked if I wanted my presents. I told him it was up to him. He decided to give me my gift and while I was looking at it he was still acting odd so I asked him what was up. He said "I have another gift for you, do you want it." I just laughed and told him again it was up to him. So he goes into the bedroom to get it and brings out this super cute cat shaped planter with colorful lava rocks. Inside the planter part of it is like this super thin packing foam that you could wrap around things. Me thinking it was just in there from him ordering it takes it out, gives it to him, and tells him to THROW IT AWAY. So I am admiring the planter and lava rocks trying to think of what plant to put in it, meanwhile Alex is holding onto the "trash" I just gave him, looking at me like I am a dumbass. He proceeds to tell me there is something in the "trash" and that I might want to look again. At this point I am flustered and so he helps unwrap it and gets down on one knee, and well you know the rest.

We look forward to seeing you!
